IRGF / Symetra Pro-Am

The Annual IRGF / Symetra Pro-Am “The Mary Jo” is conducted at The Moorings at Hawk’s Nest in late October.  The event is chaired by IRGF Board Member Jim DiMarzo…..and Honorary Chair Brad Lorimier.    The event is named in memory of Mary Jo Lorimier….the late wife of Title Sponsor Brad Lorimier.  Jim and Brad are both members of The Moorings at Hawk’s Nest.

The purpose of the Pro-Am is to bring awareness and support for the Indian River Golf Foundation and activities of the IRGF Player’s Club.  Friday’s format of play includes 12+ LPGA/Symetra Tour Professionals and 12+ area amateurs playing a 1 Better Ball of 2.  On Saturday, 12+ Symetra Tour professionals were joined by 12+ area club professionals representing 24+ Team Captains paired with 24+ teams of 3 amateurs.  The unique format makes it possible for each amateur team to play 9 holes of golf with an LPGA/Symetra Tour professional and 9 holes with an area PGA club professional.

Thanks to the Board of Directors and staff of The Moorings at Hawk’s Nest….beginning with Director of Golf Bob Gruber and Golf Course Superintendent Matt Turner – CGCSA.  Special thanks to Jackie Stoelting (member of LPGA Tour) and Megan Chrystal (member of Symetra Tour) for their continued dedication, support and promotion of the IRGF.

Thanks also to the area participating PGA professionals who support IRGF programs throughout the year.
