Formats of Play / Age Groups
Length of Competition – Golf Course
Teams will play a designated number of holes (9 to 18) determined by the availability of golf courses, time of year, weather conditions and daylight. The length of the golf course set-up is determined by age groups. In the event of weather conditions, the number of holes played shall be determined by Committee and based upon the least number of holes played by any one team. The competition is OFFICIAL when a minimum of 6 holes have been completed by all teams.
Age Groups
Age groups will be determined by the anticipated year of high school graduation. For the 2012 Atlantic Junior Golf Tournament Series, age groups will be as follows:
- 2012 – 2013 (11th and 12th grade students)
- 2014 – 2015 (9th and 10th grade students)
- 2016 – 2017 (7th and 8th grade students)
- 2018 – 2019 (5th and 6th grade students)
Note #1: Players may PLAY UP in age group based upon availability of team spots.
Note #2: The number of teams and age groups will be determined by the Tournament Committee.
Formats of Play
The more experienced tournament players will play BETTER BALL in team events….with the less experienced tournament players playing Scramble. All events including INDIVIDUAL PLAY shall be by age group.
Maximum Score per Hole
Scores higher than double par are to be recorded as double par +1. In this event, players are to PICK UP and move to the next tee or, in the case of the last hole played, to the scoreboard).
Note #1: In the event of a Shotgun Start, scores will recorded without regard to which
holes are played by recording -1, E, +1, etc.
Entry Fees
$25 per player per event with the exception of the Florida AAU Junior Golf
Championship and the Junior Grapefruit Golf Classic (see separated entry forms)
