2013 AAU Florida Junior Golf Championship
The Indian River Golf Foundation Players Club is pleased to host the 2013 AAU Florida Junior Golf Championship to be held at Sandridge Golf Club – Vero Beach, FL. The AAU Florida Junior Golf Championship is a premier competitive and developmental golf experience serving junior golfers. The host AAU Club, IRGF Players Club, is conducting this open tournament for individuals to compete in four age groups. The starting field will be limited to 80 players. Spots may be open to additional players based upon availability. The 2013 AAU Florida Junior Golf Championship is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, May 18th & 19th hosted by PGA Director of Golf Bela Nagy, Roger Van Dyke, President – Indian River Golf Foundation and Anthony Donadio, IRGF Program Director.
Acceptance of entries for the 2013 AAU Florida Junior Golf Championship are based upon AAU membership, player performance in local junior golf tournaments and recognized regional, state and national golf tournaments/tours. In the event of oversubscription, the starting field will be determined by a player ranking system. Applications received after the deadline for entry will be based upon availability.
Players will play in 18 and 9 holes divisions each day…. 36 holes (two days) Individual Stroke Play and 18 holes (two days) Individual Stroke Play formats of play. Tournament awards will be issued to the top individuals in each age group during an Awards Luncheon following play on Day 2. All play will be Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning featuring tee times by age group.
One key ingredient of the 2013 AAU Florida Junior Golf Championship is affordability with a tournament fee set at $80 per player for 36 hole players and $60 for 18 hole players. Scholarships available. Each player will receive a complimentary gift. Awards will be presented upon completion of all play.
The IRGF Players Club intends to establish the Florida AAU Junior Golf Championship as a prominent junior event to be staged over 36 holes every May. A limited number will participate with the following divisions:
18 Hole – Boys & Girls Age Groups 18U 16U 14U
9 Hole – Boys & Girls Age Groups 14U 12U 10U
Note: 18U and 16U Boys & Girls will play their SAME respective tees.
Overall Boys & Girls Champions will come out of the 18U or 16U Divisions.
Yardages for tee marker setting will be age appropriate.
Overall Winner in the Boys Division and the Girls Division will receive complimentary entry into the
2013 AAU National Junior Golf Championship in Tennessee.
Winners of 18U, 16U & 14U receive exemptions for Florida Junior Tour events.
2013 AAU membership is required to participate in this event. Players not AAU registered may do so by applying online at AAU – cost of $16 per person per year (September 1st – August 31st). The benefits include up to $50,000 Accidental Medical Insurance during the competition.
